Visit from Prime Minister David Cameron
Wed 11 Dec 2013

The tidal surge on Friday 5th December reached the highest level on record, exceeding that reached in the great flood of 1953. The tide height was approximately 1.7m above the anticipated height of 3.7m.

Despite efforts of harbour staff, the Harbour Office was flooded up to 5ft in water and caused significant damage.

Prime Minister David Cameron visited Wells-next-the-Sea on 9th December 2013 to view the damage meeting Harbour Master Robert Smith and others whose properties were damaged.
