Louise Allen appointed as Harbour Administrator

Louise Allen The Harbour Commissioners are pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Allen as the Harbour Administrator. This is a new post to meet the ever-increasing work of the harbour.

Louise is a finance professional with over 20 years experience, qualifying as a Certified Chartered Accountant in 1994 and maintaining that membership up until 2008. Having moved to Wells from Berkshire approximately four years ago she has been working for AVIVA in Norwich for the past three and a half years providing finance project support for the Motor Claims area of the business.

Prior to that Louise held senior finance positions for various USA technology and software companies in the Thames Valley area and in the City of London with broad responsibility across all aspects of accounting and administration, including financial accounting, financial control, planning, forecasting, credit management, business modelling and office facilities. Her roles included finance planning and analysis management for Lucent Technologies professional services division, where she was required to establish business plans for start up operations in Europe. Louise was also the European Finance Director for TIBCO Software, where she managed teams responsible for finance, facilities and IT.

Louise is looking forward to drawing on her broad background across all areas of finance and administration and applying her expertise and experience to the challenging and varied role of Harbour Administrator.

Louise is committed to Wells, teaches a yoga class in the town and is involved in the Carnival committee. She lives in the town with her two cats Denis and Brian.
