Environmental issues

The Wash and the North Norfolk Coast is designated a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Wells Harbour Commissioners are a Relevant Authority in the Wash and North Norfolk Coast SAC. The protection of this sensitive marine environment is a priority.

When visiting the Harbour, please help us to protect this area of outstanding beauty by observing the following guidelines...

  1. Observe marine toilet rules
  2. Mop up fuel spills
  3. Watch your wake and observe speed limits
  4. Use biodegradable cleaning agents
  5. Boat users should dispose of rubbish in the bulk bins on the quayside
  6. Other users please use the litter bins provided... they don't bite
  7. Do not disturb feeding and roosting birds
